Nazlicicek Semercioglu
Nazlicicek is a lawyer qualified to practice in Turkey. Currently, she is a PhD Candidate in Legal Studies at Bocconi University in the International and European Law Curriculum. Her research interests lie in the fields of human rights, constitutional law, environmental law, rights of nature and international dispute resolution. Nazlicicek joined SEME as an International Environmental Policies Project Analyst in 2024.
Nazlicicek Semercioglu
Nazlicicek is a lawyer qualified to practice in Turkey. After attending to Tarsus American College, she pursued an LLB in Law at Istanbul University and made internships at several law firms. She has an LLM degree in Sustainable Development that she completed at the University of Milan with a thesis focused on the Cooperation and Facilitation Investment Agreements developed by Brazil. Currently, she is a PhD Candidate in Legal Studies at Bocconi University in the International and European Law Curriculum. Her research interests lie in the fields of human rights, constitutional law, environmental law, rights of nature and international dispute resolution. Her PhD thesis studies the lessons learned from the development and enforcement of traditional legal frameworks safeguarding water resources with the aim of finding possible pathways through which they can be applied in order to endow the rights of rivers movement with more legal weight.
Nazlicicek joined SEME as an International Environmental Policies Project Analyst in 2024. Her tasks include contribution to the policy analysis of international environmental and climate agreements, drafting policy briefs, management of the international relationships of the institute, coordination of the activities of the Global Climate Policy Partnership, provision of support for the international project activities of the EIEE institute and the management of its partnership with Resource for Future.
