Vilane Gonçalves Sales
Dr. Vilane Gonçalves Sales is a distinguished Marie Curie fellow at the Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change (CMCC), where she contributes to the Sea Level Rise Impacts on Italian Hospitality (SEA-LIMITHS) project under the guidance of Prof. Francesco Bosello. She is a part of the Economic analysis of Climate Impacts and Policy (ECIP) division and the Energy Innovation and the Environment (EIEE) research group. Her expertise lies in environmental econometrics, climate change economics, and machine learning. She earned her PhD in Economics from the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom, with a focus on the economics and policies of deforestation in Brazil. Prior to her fellowship at CMCC, Dr. Sales held a position as a Postdoctoral Researcher on Climate Change Economics at the University of Bern, Switzerland. In addition to her research, she has imparted her knowledge as a lecturer, teaching Environmental Econometrics and Environmental Economics for Non-Economists.
