Abstract

Please join Resources for the Future (RFF) on Thursday, July 9, for a webinar in our Resources Radio Live series, featuring Dr. Valentina Bosetti. She will discuss her team’s research on how various lockdown measures affected air quality in China and Italy early in the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as how pollution levels have rebounded over time.
Dr. Bosetti is a professor in the department of economics at Bocconi University and senior scientist at the RFF-CMCC European Institute on Economics and the Environment.
The COVID-19 pandemic has radically altered lives across the globe—and has had a number of dramatic effects on typical patterns of movement, consumption, and pollution. Even as the medical community has sprung into action to address the public health impacts of the pandemic—and policymakers seek ways to address the economic consequences—other researchers like Dr. Bosetti are beginning to understand the many ways in which the past few months have affected a range of energy and environmental considerations.
