Cindy Azuero Pedraza
Cindy Azuero Pedraza is a postdoctoral researcher at EIEE. Her research interests are in the application of operations research and economic tools including optimization, game theory, simulation, Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), and economic models to environmental problems, which include biodiversity conservation, forests, and climate change. She holds a PhD in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, with a focus on sustainable systems engineering and economic decision analysis. During her doctoral research, she concentrated on incorporating biodiversity impacts into optimization models used for decision making in the context of climate change mitigation. In specific land use and forest management models. At EIEE she will work on the improvement of Integrated Assessment Models (IAMs) through (1) the inclusion of biodiversity and (2) a better representation of new technologies.
