Leticia Magalar Martins de Souza
Leticia is a PhD candidate in Energy Planning at COPPE/UFRJ and a post-degree researcher at RFF-EIEE-CMCC. She holds a master's degree in energy planning from COPPE/UFRJ and a degree in environmental engineering from PUC-Rio. With five years of experience in consulting companies, she has specialized in sustainability projects and the development of mitigation and adaptation plans for cities. Since 2016, Leticia has actively engaged in research, focusing on energy security assessment, industrial sector mitigation roadmaps, and the energy-materials nexus within integrated assessment models. She has also contributed to important initiatives such as the Brazil's fourth national communication to the UNFCCC, conducting research on climate change impacts, feasibility studies for renewable energy generation, and developing mitigation and adaptation plans.
Her research interests are topics related to circular economy, integrated assessment models and climate change mitigation and adaptation analysis. Currently, at EIEE, she collaborates with the modeling team to explore the integration of materials flows and circular economy strategies into integrated assessment models.
